Hotly Anticpated ‘The Collection’ Test Screens In Jersey!

Back on April 13 co-writer Patrick Melton revealed that he and director Marcus Dunstan were in the final days of mixing The Collection 3D, the hotly anticipated sequel to their slasher The Collector. I get e-mailed about the film on a weekly basis, so I bet you’ll enjoy this small update… an update I call real progress.

This evening Tweets have begun to appear out of the film’s apparent test screening in New Jersey, which we’ve confirmed actually took place.

Tim Bright (@TeeNotso) writes: “#TheCollection was suchhh a good movie

Jimmy Hartman (@JimmyHartman) exclaimed: “Holy shit #Collection

John’s Life (@JaDAM13) stated, “#TheCollection needs to be a box office hit. Had a blast at screening. People loved it.” Earlier he showed his screening ticket, “#TheCollection aka #TheCollector2 #MovieScreening today!

Josh Stewart, Lee Tergesen, Christopher McDonald, Johnny Yong Bosch, Emma Fitzpatrick, Shannon Kane, Tim Griffin, William Peltz, Eaddy Mays, Michael Nardelli, Justin Mortelliti, Michael H. Cole, Arloa Reston and Courtney Lauren Cumming all star in the sequel that could hit theaters later this year.

Arkin (Stewart) escapes with his life from the vicious grips of “The Collector” during an entrapment party where he adds beautiful Elena to his “Collection.” Instead of recovering from the trauma, Arkin is suddenly abducted from the hospital by mercenaries hired by Elena’s wealthy father. Arkin is blackmailed to team up with the mercenaries and track down The Collector’s booby trapped hide out and save Elena from his sadistic rituals.

Good news. I’m glad to hear its almost ready.

  • Julian Nunez

Awesome. I’ve been wanting to watch this for a while now.

  • WalkingDeadGuy

Eh, I wasn’t a fan of the first one. It wasn’t bad, but I thought it tried too hard to force a new “horror icon” type villain down our throat. I couldn’t help rolling my eye’s while watching it. I hope the new one is an improvement on what is a decent core premise.

    • theodds22

Are you kidding me? The first one was AMAZING. That’s actually one of my favorite horror movies. I hope this one will be 10x more amazing than the first one.

      • EvilHead1981

I think the word “amazing” gets thrown around far too much nowadays. It’s like it’s lost all meaning.

        • sex-robot

Skullfuckingly shithot then. If its amazing to this dude then who are you to say he cant use the term… Besides it is amazing.. so yeah..

  • FreddyKrueger13

The first one is my favorite movie I’m so psyched for this its gonna be awesome!!!!

  • Grime

I’m surprised so many people enjoyed The Collector. There wasn’t really much to it.

  • purplek

No matter whatever else happens today, this is what made my day good haha I’m so happy to hear about this man! I’ve been waiting and hoping to this movie man haha WOOOO! I’m so excited haha The first is just about my favorite horror film. So original with an AWESOME villain!

  • djblack1313

i’m looking forward to this one. i admit i didn’t love the first one but i thought the anti-hero Arkin was excellent and one of the best written characters i’ve seen in a horror movie for a while. i wonder what happened to his family since he wasn’t on time in paying back the mob(?) guys? i hope Arkin makes it out and kills the Collector!

    • saft-und-kraft

I’m with you buddy. between this and no ordinary family i found Stewart to just have a great presence on film. i want him to get some in this one!

  • morrisseylikesburgers

    The first one was craptacular.

  • EvilHead1981

First one was shit. Have no interest in seeing this one. The only thing Melton and Dunstan were semi-good at was making Saw movies.

  • Blood-Sicles

I enjoyed the first film for what it was- an insanely ambitious low-budget slasher. Can’t wait to see how much more style they packed into the sequel with a $10 million budget. Great premise too.

  • The Collector was terrible! I might need to watch it again to see if I have the same opinion.

  • sex-robot

Just worried this (definitely) wont show at cinemas in Australia so I’ll once again have to watch a 3D horror film on my 2D tv… And im reeeeraaalllyyy hanging out for this…the first one got me stiff as a corpse
