Dana Wynter, known for her role as Becky Driscoll in Don Siegel’s Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, died of congestive heart failure on Thursday. In addition to the heralded sci-fi/horror flick, the 79-year-old actress also guest starred on genre TV shows such as Suspense, The Invaders, and The Alfred Hitchcock Hour.
In the film, Dr. Miles Bennel returns his small town practice to find several of his patients suffering the paranoid delusion that their friends or relatives are impostors. He is initially sceptical, especially when the alleged dopplegangers are able to answer detailed questions about their victim’s life, but he is eventually persuaded that something odd has happened, and determines to find out what.
