‘Shark Night 3D’ Digital Poster Shows Serious Teeth
Back in April we exclusively shared with you this gnarly photo from Relativity’s Shark Night 3D, the David R. Ellis-directed horror pic swimming into theaters September 2.
Keeping with exciting imagery, the studio has a digital poster spewed out across theaters that’s easily one of the coolest one sheets in years. My only fear is that Ellis delivers another cheesefest along the lines of The Final Destination or Asylum (one of the worst movies ever).
Starring Sinqua Walls, Chris Carmack, Alyssa Diaz, Joel David Moore, Sara Paxton, Dustin Milligan and Katharine McPhee, “The story revolves around seven male and female college friends who spend a weekend at a lake house in Louisiana’s Gulf area. When their vacation quickly becomes a nightmare of hellish shark attacks, unheard of in freshwater lakes, they soon discover that the sharks are part of a sick, greedy plan on the part of several locals.”
Also enjoy some girly screams when a shark eats a shark.
Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.
The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.
Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.
Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”
Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.
Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.
THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
