Magnolia Acquires Sundance’s ‘Tucker & Dale vs Evil’

After sitting on the shelf for the past year, Magnolia Pictures has scored US rights to Tucker & Dale Vs Evil (review), reports Screen Daily.

The award winning comedy-horror screened in Sundance last year and stars Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine as a pair of well intentioned Appalachian hillbillies who fall foul of a group of preppy campers.

Magnolia plans an Ultra VOD release on August 26 followed by theatrical roll-out on September 30 for Eli Craig’s film, whose roster of honors includes the Midnight Audience Award at SXSW, the best director award at Fantaspoa and the best motion picture award at Sitges. Check out a slew of clips and images.
