Rumor Control: ‘Halloween 3D’ Has NOT Been Greenlit

Making up stories for traffic not only makes you look like an asshole, but it hurts the filmmakers who are working incredibly hard on getting their movie into production.

A site I choose not to name claims representatives from the Weinstein Company confirmed to them that they have “officially green-lit” Halloween 3D “after nearly a 3 year wait.”

First, it hasn’t even been two years since Rob Zombie’s sequel to his own remake arrived in theaters. Second, their story is a load of bullcrap.

Dimension Films has officially denied these reports to Bloody Disgusting, while creative forces close to the project have also rebuked the story.

From what we’re told, the Weinsteins are solely focused on getting director Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer’s Hellraiser off the ground. Lussier and Farmer, who also collaborated on My Bloody Valentine 3D and Drive Angry 3D, were attached to develop the latest coming of Michael Myers back in September 2009. As of this writing it’s still very much in the cards for the future.

But is it greelit? NO. Is it moving forward? NO.

We’ll update you with official news when it comes.
