Warner Bros. Pictures did a little shuffling over the weekend and are looking as far ahead as 2013.
Warners has given Pacific Rim, Guillermo del Toro’s giant monster movie starring Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Day and Idris Elba, a monstrous July 12, 2013 date, making it one of the major releases of the summer! “Set in a future in which malevolent creatures threaten the earth, the planet must band together and use highly advanced technology to eradicate the growing menace.”
Those of you who were excited to see Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion 3D in October get a break as Warners has now slated the star-studded affair for September 9, 2011. Featuring Matt Damon, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Laurence Fishburne, Josie Ho, Demetri Martin, Jennifer Ehle, Bryan Cranston and Elliott Gould, “ ‘Contagion’ follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart.”
