Last night the LA Film Festival hosted the world premiere of Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, the Troy Nixey directed, Guillermo del Toro produced remake of the 1973 telepic that will eventually hit theaters on August 26. FilmDistrict hit the jackpot with James Wan’s Insidious, can they repeat?
“ ‘Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark ‘is an engaging, well-paced and scary horror film… while hardcore horror fans won’t break a sweat, it’s a gateway horror flick, one that will push the younger generation into our sick and twisted world.”
You can click the title above for the entire review. In addition, FilmDistrict has provided Bloody with a trio of clips, all of which can be enjoyed beyond the break. Check back here in August to tell us what YOU thought!
Directed by Troy Nixey for release August 26, the pic “follows Sally (Bailee Madison), a young girl who moves to Rhode Island to live with her father (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend (Katie Holmes) in the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. While exploring the house, Sally starts to hear voices coming from creatures in the basement whose hidden agenda is to claim her as one of their own.”
