30-year-old Boston native Ben Foster is awesome, like super-duper awesome. One can only wonder when his name ends up in the mix for an Oscar.
There are plenty of ways to infuse even more “cool” into Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, but landing Foster is about as good as you can get. JoBlo confirms that the 3:10 to Yuma, 30 Days of Night and Alpha Dog star will be joining the previously announced Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Guy Pearce, Kate Dickie, Rafe Spall, Logan Marshall-Green, Benedict Wong and Emun Elliott.
While full plot details have potentially leaked online, the site also scored Twentieth Century Fox’s “official” synopsis: “Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.”
