Horror in Your House is back after a week break and there are plenty of good films to take home over the last couple weeks including Hammer Films release Wake Wood, a Bloody-Disgusting Select Rammbock: Berlin Undead and long lost slasher classic Bloody Birthday.
Hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend. I need another couple days to recover myself.

BLOODLUST ZOMBIES – Vicious Circle Films, Breaking Glass Pictures
Like typical 9-to-5 cubicle dwellers, the workers at Zlantoff Industries are just counting down the minutes and seconds by the end of the day. And just like any office, mishaps are bound to happen: spilt coffee, jammed fax machines … mutant viral outbreaks. When a chemical spill in the lab on an otherwise uneventful weekday puts the office on emergency lockdown, the staff unwittingly becomes the first test subjects for an experimental, biological weapon and if the mutant virus doesn t spur cannibalistic murder, the passive aggressive office banter will. Featuring adult film superstar Alexis Texas in a breakout role, Bloodlust Zombies is a rollercoaster ride of sex, gore and action. Part office satire, part apocalyptic nightmare, director Dan Lantz s feature length debut keeps the laughs and heads rolling.
MICAH SAYS: Not even sure why they bothered with all the plot details when they could have accomplished the same thing by saying, “Alexis Texas and her ass appear in the film.”
BLOODRAYNE: THE THIRD REICH – DIRECTOR’S CUT (DVD / Blu-Ray) – Phase 4 Films
Half-vampire, half-human, Rayne hides in the shadows slaughtering vampires and those that get in her way. In 1943 Europe, during World War II, Rayne faces her greatest foe, a growing army of undead Nazi soldiers led by Ekart Brand, a top Nazi official turned day-walker. Rayne must team up with a group of resistance fighters to defeat Brand and his vampire army before they reach Berlin to grant Hitler immortality.
MICAH SAYS: They’re still making “Bloodrayne” movies? And Uwe Boll is still directing them? Actually, that doesn’t come as a surprise. Boll’s movies are always fun to watch – the caveat being copious amounts of liquor are consumed first.
BLOODY BIRTHDAY – Severin Films
In 1970, three children were born during the height of a total eclipse of Saturn, the planet governing emotion. Ten years later these seemingly innocent children have become heartless killers able to move around under the radar of suspicion because of their youthful facades. What happens when a teenage girl and her younger brother stumble upon the horrible truth?
MICAH SAYS: Old school slasher with tons of gore and gratuitous nudity. Cannot go wrong with this one.
DRIVE-IN HORROR SHOW – Brain Damage
Whatever your ghoulish pleasure, we have a tale for you. In the tradition of Creepshow and Tales from the Crypt, DRIVE-IN HORRORSHOW features five terrifying tales of horror. Starring Jenna Morasca (Playboy model, winner “Survivor – Amazon”), Ethan Zohn (Winner “Survivor – Africa”), and featuring FX by Rob Fitz, Nick Flanagan and Jeff O’Brien (SHUTTLE, GOD OF VAMPIRES)!
THE FRANKENSTEIN SYNDROME – MTI HOME VIDEO
A beautiful young stem-cell researcher, Elizabeth Barnes, joins a secret research group attempting to develop a stem-cell based universal healing serum. Despite opposition from the project leaders she quickly develops a serum that can bring the dead back to life – but with horrific results. When one of the project’s security guards is murdered and then re-animated, Barnes and her team must contend with a man, who at first, is like a child but quickly becomes something much, much more.
THE NESTING (DVD / Blu-Ray) – Blue Underground
Also known as MASSACRE MANSION and PHOBIA, this eerie house of horrors was co-written, produced, and directed by notorious adult filmmaker Armand Weston, and stars Robin Groves (STEPHEN KING’S SILVER BULLET), John Carradine (SHOCK WAVES, THE HOWLING), and Academy Award winner Gloria Grahame (THE BAD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, OKLAHOMA!) in her final film role. Long unavailable on home video, THE NESTING has been newly transferred in High Definition from the original camera negative and is presented here in a never-before-seen Director’s Cut!
NIGHTMARES IN RED, WHITE, AND BLUE: THE EVOLUTION OF THE AMERICAN HORROR FILM – Kino International
Horror and sci-fi veteran Lance Henriksen (Alien, Near Dark) takes you through a fascinating look at the history of the American horror film, examining the earliest monster movies of the silent era up to the scariest modern-day masterpieces. Highlights include interviews with genre masters Roger Corman, John Carpenter and George A. Romero, plus clips from classic films like The Exorcist, Night of the Living Dead, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Hostel, Rosemary’s Baby and many more!
MICAH SAYS: It was interesting and well done and a good jumping off point for those who are just getting into horror. Somehow the doc forgets to mention the trend to remake every f*cking movie ever. Would have loved to have heard some in-depth opinions from the masters on the remaking of their movies.
RAMMBOCK: BERLIN UNDEAD – The Collective/Bloody Disgusting Selects
Just when Michael arrives in Berlin to visit his ex-girlfriend Gabi, a terrible virus starts spreading across the city at a rapid pace, turning people into mindless homicidal maniacs. Much to Michael’s concern, Gabi’s not home; instead, he meets Harper, a teenage plumber’s apprentice at work in her apartment block. Together, they manage to barricade themselves when raging hordes of infected people swarm the building. Surrounded by these thirsty zombies, Michael and Harper have their hands full to survive – and it will take all of their ingenuity to make their way out to try and find Gabi.
SEASON OF THE WITCH (DVD / Blu-Ray) – Fox Home Entertainment
Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade (Ron Perlman) to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence.
MICAH SAYS: Call it what you will. Guilty pleasure or just bad taste, but Nic Cage mega acting his way through this ridiculous movie was a lot of fun. And I am proud to admit it.
WAKE WOOD – (DVD / Blu -Ray) – Dark Sky Films
Still grieving the death of nine-year-old Alice their only child at the jaws of a crazed dog, vet Patrick and pharmacist Louise relocate to the remote town of Wake Wood where they learn of a pagan ritual that will allow them three more days with Alice. The couple find the idea disturbing and exciting in equal measure, but once they agree terms with Arthur, the village s leader, a far bigger question looms what will they do when it s time for Alice to go back?
MICAH SAYS: It’s the British “Pet Sematary” except that way more animals are harmed. Hammer Films latest release is another good one, in fact, it’s one of my favorites of the year so far. A mish mash of a ton of films all boiled into one slow burning, yet entertaining ride. And the ending…jeesh. Pick of the week.
WISCONSIN PROJECT X – Brain Damage
In a small town of Wisconsinville, Montana a scientist, Dr. Winston (Joel Baird), works in a lab on a new experiment. While developing a new type of preservative for the snack cake industry he creates an artificial living organism. Dr. Winston creates a humanoid from the formula. They mutate and break free from the doctor’s laboratory. Now, they have escaped the lab and into the town of Wisconsinville. Suddenly, the humanoids enter the town destroying and killing everything in their path.
THE WITCHMAKER: LEGEND OF WITCH HOLLOW – Code Red
Dr. Ralph Hayes is a professor of paranormal studies who leads a group into the Louisiana swamp to investigate a string of murders; it is his firm belief that witchcraft is behind the murders. One of his students is a psychic whose powers have been inherited from her witch ancestors. The trail eventually leads the group to Luther the Berserk, a sorcerer of incredible powers who, after drinking the blood of his victims, has the ability to raise the dead. It is good vs. the supernatural forces of evil in this terrifying feature.
ZOMBIE HOLOCAUST – (DVD + Blu-Ray) – Shriek Show
In an effort to expose a flesh-eating cult in New York City, a team of scientists sets out on an expedition to the primitive island of Keto. They are soon trapped in the wilderness, surrounded by a tribe of murderous cannibals and an army of deadly zombies!
