Michael Fassbender Offered Lead in Dark Thriller ‘Prisoners’

The once hottest script in town, Alcon Entertainment is hiring yet another detective for their thriller Prisoners, which once saw Leonardo DiCaprio attached as well as Training Day director Antoine Fuqua.

CS reports that an offer has gone out to actor Michael Fassbender, last seen playing Magneto in Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class, to play the lead role of Keller Dove, a carpenter and father of two who abducts and tortures the main suspect when one of his daughters goes missing in order to try and find the real kidnapper.

No word on if Incendies director Denis Villeneuve is still at the helm.

Aaron Guzikowski’s dark tale “centers on a small-town man who, after his daughter and her friend are kidnapped and the cops fail to solve the crime, takes matters into his own hands, holding hostage the person he suspects committed the crime. He also comes into conflict with the big-city detective assigned to the case.
