Apparently there were TWO one-second teases for The Hunger Games at the VMA’s tonight before they showed the actual teaser. That’s a lot of teasing but I suppose it’s appropriate for the attention span of the demographic.
Directed by Gary Ross (Pleasantville, Seabiscuit), this first look at the adaptation of the novels by Suzanne Collins is surprisingly lush given the post apocalyptic subject matter. Then again, the pictures that debuted earlier this summer were anachronistically polished as well – maybe having not read the books I’m missing out on the subplots about moisturizer and hot oil.
I know Lenny Kravitz is in the films so perhaps he can fill in those gaps for us. The Hunger Games opens March 23, 2012.
