After entering development hell with Stephen Norrington (with a screenplay by Nick Cave), Intruders and 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo was attached to direct a reboot of The Crow for Relativity Media. Twitch now reports that the Spanish director is exiting the project with Before The Fall‘s F. Javier Gutierrez being floated as a possible replacement.
Back in August, Bradley Cooper left the project leaving Mark Wahlberg and Channing Tatum in talks to play Eric Draven, a man brutally murdered who comes back to life as an undead avenger of his and his fiancée’s murder. The mvie is based on James O’Barr’s legendary comic of the same name. Brandon Lee was the first to play Draven in Dimension//Miramax’s 1994 The Crow.
