Normally I wouldn’t cover this project without more info, but three of the names involved have a strong genre presence.
Deadline reports that Warner Bros. Pictures has bought an untitled action/sci-fi pitch created by David Karlak, marking the scribe’s first studio sale.
Roy Lee (The Ring, Godzilla, 7500) and Underground will team to produce the project, the details of which are under wraps. Karlak, who has gained buzz around town thanks to his short film “The Candidate” (posted above), is repped by Paradigm, Underground and attorney Dave Feldman.
Writing partners Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan – known for Feast I-III, Saw IV-VII and Piranha 3DD – teamed with Karlak to write the pitch.
