A few days ago it was revealed that Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami’s next project is a mysterious survival horror game codenamed Zwei. Not much is known about the game other than it will be a “realization of pure survival horror” that “pushes the limits of fear and exhilaration,” or at least that’s what its press release says. Mikami also had something to say about his return to the genre he helped make popular–check that out, as well as a pretty creepy collage after the break.
According to Mikami, “A true ‘survival horror’ game is one in which the player confronts and overcomes fear … I’ve found my focus and once again I’m striving for pure survival horror. I am being very hands-on in the development of this game to ensure that the quality is there. Rest assured.” Zwei, or whatever it ends up being called, doesn’t have a release date, we only know they’re aiming for sometime next year.
Here’s the collage of locations we’ll potentially see in the game, including an eerie coast with a lighthouse and a broken ship and a few others that are a little difficult to figure out exactly what they are.
