‘Jason X’ Director James Isaac Passes Away At Age 51

Some sad news this morning as it appears that director James Isaac (Jason X, Skinwalkers, and Pig Hunt) has passed away at age 51. Isaac was heavily influenced by David Cronenberg (note Cronenberg’s appearance in Jason X) and also did special effects work for eXistenz (as well as non-Cronenberg films Virtuosity and House 2: The Second Story).

This morning screenwriter Todd Farmer (who wrote Jason X) tweeted, “RIP Jimmy Issac. A wonderful man, husband and father. I never tear up. I thought.

I’m not sure what the cause of death was, all I know is that he was most certainly too young. And that he gave us one of the all time great Friday The 13th kills (the frozen face).

Our sincere condolences go out to his friends and family. Put on Jason X today.

Jason X was my favorite F13 after the first four. I like how different it was. That it didn’t take itself to seriously. Plus it looked amazing on the big screen and on Blu Ray. RIP

Let’s not foget his directorial debut ‘The Horror Show’ starring Lance Henriksen from 1989. An enjoyable film that seems to be forgotten. RIP.

FYI Evan – Jimmy had a rare blood cancer and was fighting to survive it with exhaustive treatments. Jimmy was a friend from school and then we worked together. Our families have crossed paths too. It is very shocking he is gone. We knew his cancer was horrible, but you always expect a victory…especially when someone like Jim is fighting.
