Fantastic Films and MPI Media Group (Hatchet II, Stakeland, The Innkeepers)’s horror comedy Stitches, directed by Conor McMahon, is hot on the Cannes trail. While we’ve already shown you two looks at “Stitches” the clown, we’ve now landed the official sales art that’s brings the “bad clown” right up front and center.
McMahon is the writer-director of Disturbed, Dead Meat and the TV series “Zombie Bashers.” The cast includes Ross Noble and Tommy Knight of “Doctor Who” and “The Sarah Jane Adventures.”
“The pic centers on Richard “Stitches” Grindle, a jaded workaday kids’ birthday clown, whose one-liners are witty in a way that’s just not for kids. He falls victim to a fatal party mishahp at the hands of a group of particularly nasty children. Years later, the group of now teenagers attend a party at which Stitches is the uninvited guest of honor, returning to avenge his untimely death.“
