TV: Major Character Returns For Third Season Of ‘The Walking Dead’

In a bit of a mild spoiler warning, The Walking Dead Forums scored some behind-the-scenes imagery from the set of AMC’s third season of “The Walking Dead” which reveal the return of a major franchise character.

Spotted around the “Woodbury” set, genre favorite Michael Rooker returns as “Merle Dixon.” It looks like he’ll be joining the group of survivors headed by the notorious The Governor (played by David Morrissey).

The show, “tells the story of the weeks and months that follow a pandemic zombie apocalypse. County Sheriff Rick Grimes travels with his family and a small group of survivors, constantly in search of a safe and secure home. But the constant pressure of fighting off death on a daily basis takes a heavy toll, sending many to the lowest depths of human cruelty. As Rick struggles to keep his family alive, he will discover that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be far more dangerous than the mindless walkers roaming the earth.

Not a HUGE spoiler because they confirmed he’d be returning before Season 2 ended…however people were guessing he’d be in Woodbury with the Governor so I guess you could say that’s a spoiler itself
