According to SuperLuchas.net, legendary metal band Metallica will be performing at the 2012 WWE SummerSlam on August 19th. This will not be the first time that Metallica’s music has been featured in the WWE world. In 2003, “St. Anger” was the SummerSlam theme, “All Nightmare Long” was the 2008 No Mercy theme, Triple H used “For Whom The Bell Tolls” as his entrance music in Wrestlemania XXVII, and “The Memory Remains” was used between the Triple H/Undertake Hell In A Cell match in Wrestlemania XXVIII.
While there aren’t any confirmed matches, it’s looking very likely that Triple H will be facing WWE wrestler turned MMA fighter turned WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar as one of the main events.
SummerSlam is the second-largest WWE pay-per-view event behind Wrestlemania, so seeing Metallica on the bill wouldn’t be all that surprising. What about you, my dear readers? Think Metallica is a good fit for SummerSlam or is there another band that you think kicks more ass?
