on

There are over 200,000 registered Infected members here on Bloody-Disgusting. So it only stands to reason that a good chunk of you are musicians. And, believe it or not, I want to hear your stuff! More so, I want to share it with the rest of the community that you are such a part of. After all, aren’t we just one big happy family?

So today I want to spotlight BD Infected member v0dka4arussian, who goes by the artist name AbdeCaf. You can find all sorts of awesome information and music samples below, as well as a free download of his Unravel EP!

If you want to be a spotlighted artist, contact me via one of the methods at the bottom of this article.

AbdeCaf: I’ve been doing this project for only 6 months, and have only released music with it for 4 months. My first single ”Feed Your Brain” came out February 8th, and I sent it to Diplo who favorited it on his Soundcloud, making it the only song in his favorites, and causing it to chart on the Soundcloud Indie Chart. After that I opened for Com Truise locally as my first show. Since then I’ve signed with the William Morris Endeavor (Bloody Beetroots, Swedish House Mafia, Holy Ghost!) for booking, dropped my first EP Unravel for free, and been booked to play VELD Music Fest, Electric Zoo, Counter Point and North Coast.

Tour dates:
Right now my agent’s working on a tour for the fall but my current dates are:
July 20th – Ft. Lauderdale FL w/ Zed’s Dead
August 4th – Toronto Canada – VELD Electronic Music Festival
August 31st – Chicago, Illinois – North Coast Festival
September 1st – Randalls Island, New York – Electric Zoo Festival
September 27th – Atlanta, GA – Counter Point Festival

Favorite horror movies:
This is such a crazy list, I feel like even this won’t fully encompass my tastes but:
A Serbian Film, The Seventh Seal (can’t even begin to explain how much I love this film) Cannibal Holocaust, Halloween 1,2,4,5,H20, Ressurection and Rob Zombie’s two remakes, The Loved Ones, Kill List, Paranormal Activity 2 and 3, Slaughtered Vomit Dolls, ReGOREgitated Sacrifice, Slow Torture Puke Chamber, Perfume, August Underground series, Guinea pig series, Cannibal Ferox, Il Ultimo Mondo Cannibale, Suspiria, Profondo Rosso, The Bird With The Crystal Plumage, Amer, Wolf Creek, Begotten, House of the Devil, I Saw the Devil, Oldboy (even though it’s not really horror), Nekromantic, The Anthropomorphic Beast, The Dead, A Nightmare on Elm Street (every film except for that reviling sequel), Friday The 13th (all of em), Evil Dead 1-2 and Army of Darkness, Attack the Block, Chronicle, The original Psycho, Audition, Tokyo Gore Police, Riki O’ the Story of Riki, Every ”Of the Dead” film that George A Romero did and the Remake of Dawn of the Dead that Zack Snyder did, The Human Centipede, They Live, The Thing (the original only), Zombi 2, Cannibal Apocalypse, I Spit on Your Grave (original), Last House on the Left (original and remake), Blood Moon, Violent Shit, Hobo With a Shotgun, Rubber, and of course there’s tons I’m probably forgetting.

“He Walks By Night” – Listen to a Brand New John Carpenter Song NOW!

John Carpenter music

It’s a new day, and you’ve got new John Carpenter to listen to. John Carpenter, Daniel Davies and Cody Carpenter have released the new track He Walks By Night this morning, the second single off their upcoming album Lost Themes IV: Noir, out May 3 on Sacred Bones Records.

Lost Themes IV: Noir is the latest installment in a series that sees Carpenter releasing new music for John Carpenter movies that don’t actually exist. The first Lost Themes was released in 2015, followed by Lost Themes II in 2016 and Lost Themes III: Alive After Death in 2021.

Sacred Bones previews, “It’s been a decade since John Carpenter recorded the material that would become Lost Themes, his debut album of non-film music and the opening salvo in one of Hollywood’s great second acts. Those vibrant, synth-driven songs, made in collaboration with his son Cody Carpenter and godson Daniel Davies, kickstarted a musical renaissance for the pioneering composer and director. With Lost Themes IV: Noir, they’ve struck gold again, this time mining the rich history of the film noir genre for inspiration.

“Since the first Lost Themes, John has referred to these compositions as “soundtracks for the movies in your mind.” On the fourth installment in the series, those movies are noirs. Like the film genre they were influenced by, what makes these songs “noirish” is sometimes slippery and hard to define, and not merely reducible to a collection of tropes. The scores for the great American noir pictures were largely orchestral, while the Carpenters and Davies work off a sturdy synth-and-guitar backbone.

“The trio’s free-flowing chemistry means Lost Themes IV: Noir runs like a well-oiled machine—the 1951 Jaguar XK120 Roadster from Kiss Me Deadly, perhaps, or the 1958 Plymouth Fury from John’s own Christine. It’s a chemistry that’s helped power one of the most productive stretches of John’s creative life, and Noir proves that it’s nowhere near done yielding brilliant results.”

You can pre-save Lost Themes IV: Noir right now! And listen to the new track below…
