USA Today is reporting that Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor will be composing the main theme song for the upcoming action FPS game Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Reznor is no stranger to composing for video games as he has lent his talent to both the Quake and Doom video game series’. Reznor states that because of the US/China Cold War storyline, that “There is a lot of reservation and angst and sense of loss and regret and anger bubbling under the surface. So it didn’t make sense to have a gung-ho patriotic feeling kind of theme song. It has to feel weighty.”
It is also reported that Reznor will be releasing another How To Destroy Angels, the project with his wife Mariqueen Maandiq and film composer Atticus Ross, although the distribution and release date have yet to be determined.
