Another Teaser Trailer For ‘Paranormal Activity 4’

Yesterday we posted a teaser trailer for Paranormal Activity 4, which marks the return of Paranormal Activity 3 directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman.

And now we have a second teaser trailer. It still doesn’t show much, but it’s become par for the course to have several teaser trailers leading up to the actual trailer.

Joost and Schulman co-directed Catfish independently before it was acquired by Universal. PA 3 has made over $200 million at the box office worldwide, while the entire Paranormal Activity franchise has pulled in approximately $577 worldwide at the box office alone making it a near billion dollar franchise (when you include home video).

Paramount releases PA4 on October 19, 2012. The full trailer hits Tomorrow, August 1st. Head inside for the teaser! Also – are teasers for trailers worth it? Let us know.

No idea why I just watched this. But, it does look like they are going somewhere with the story of baby Hunter. Maybe I’m just reading way too far into that 2 seconds of footage.

Query – Are teasers for trailers (themselves teasers for movies) worth it?

    Answer – Absolutely not!

  • Taboo

I never really got into these films..

  • Seal_Clubber

I like the films but I do not know why someone would waste their time putting together a clip like this. Trailer teasers are a waste of time … show me the full trailer or just let me wait to see the movie itself.

Besides – here is the whole story I bet:

    1) Young couple move into new space with young children.
    2) Spirit starts doing spooky things, but only around the kids.
    3) One of the parents starts to believe the kids. The other does not.
    4) Create tension by having long, silent shots of cameras panning around. Make a shadow flit across screen or open door.
    5) Introduce new character 2/3rds through movie to increase / decrease tension.
    6) Spirit amps up activity. Now everyone believes.
    7) Try to fix situation by having ritual or relocating. Think it worked.
    8) Everyone dies a horrible death (or joins spirit, whatever)

    Boom. Every Paranormal movie ever.

Don’t get me wrong – I like them. I just get tired sometimes of long, boring shots, waiting for a door to slam and scare me.
