TV: [Next On] The Year’s Second To Last Episode Of “True Blood”…”Sunset”

After airing “Gone, Gone, Gone” (episode #58 of “True Blood”‘s fifth season) tonight, HBO looks forward to the final two episodes of the season, the first of which airs next week. Episode #59 airs on August 19th and is called “Sunset” and, being the penultimate episode of the season, looks to be fairly action packed. I don’t regret ceasing my viewership of the show, but I can see why some of you guys dig it.

Slipping further into religious fervor, Bill (Stephen Moyer) gives Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) an order she’s loath to carry out. Armed with a damning video of Russell (Denis O’Hare) and Steve (Michael McMillian), the military delivers an ultimatum to the Authority. Claude (Giles Matthey) and Maurella (Kristina Anapau) take Sookie (Anna Paquin) to meet the faerie elder, who may know something about an ancient family secret. Alcide (Joe Manganiello) reconnects with his father; Sam (Sam Trammell) and Luna (Janina Gavankar) hitch a rideinto the Authority.

Sorry to say that this season of TB hasn’t been all that great, and the story just seems to be dragging on and on and going nowhere fast.

sorry but I have to disagree….this season has been amazing. full of action and not one boring episode. I love True Blood and have not been disappointed in a season yet.

this season has been IMO perfection! i really disliked season 3 and i thought season 4 was just ok but i absolutely love season 5! standouts for me are Tara & Pam’s friendship, Jessica, Jessica and Jessica (she’s fucking awesome!), Chris Meloni was awesome, oh, i could go on and on. i love this season!

This season is a spectacular return to form. I didn’t mind last season, in fact I quite enjoyed it, but it’s easy to say this season is far superior. I am always entertained by this show, it may be many things but one thing it never is is boring. A lot of series can’t state the same thing.

This season is great in my opinion and Kudos to Evan for not dissing the show even though the doesn’t watch anymore…as a big fan of the show it’s hard to stop watching even if the show eventually goes to shit, but this show to me just gets more and more batshit crazy and it’s so different from the books. I figured we’d atlest get to see *Spoiler* Jason a werepanther by now or sookies house burn down or quinn pop up somewhere, I do love the Tara vampire aspect to the show though and seeing more to lafayette’s powers….
