Update: Interview with the director inside! Some pretty incredible news came our way this morning as we were informed that Diora Baird (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning), Shannon Elizabeth (Scary Movie, Thir13en Ghosts, Cursed) and Monica Keena (Freddy vs Jason) have all officially joined the cast of Adam Gierasch’s remake of Night of the Demons, which was co-written by Gierasch and Jace Anderson. These three lovely ladies have all made their names in the horror genre and will continue on when the film begins shooting in New Orleans this September. Read on for word from director Adam Gierasch!Monica Keena, Shannon Elizabeth, Diora Baird

On the hells of this massive announcement, we caught up with writer-director Adam Gierasch who talked a bit about how it feels to have cast three iconic horror hotties in the remake.

They’re a gorgeous cast, aren’t they? We’re lucky! But I’m also excited to work with Monica, Shannon and Elizabeth because they’ve got serious acting chops and have great ideas about their characters” he tells Bloody-Disgusting. “I come from an acting background originally, and working with the actors is one of my favorite parts of directing.

Gierasch also chatted a bit about what his plans are for taking the film to new levels. Can you says balls-to-the-wall demon gorefest?!

My aim is to have the movie be an absolute blast: a balls-to-the-wall demon gorefest that remembers that horror movies should be fun. Our demon setpieces riff on some classic moments from the original as well as introduce new craziness. Each demon will have its own distinct look and personality. I’ll be using classic ’80s punk songs in the score.

The goal for Gierasch is to make a film that he would have loved back when he was 17-years-old.

I’m making the movie that would have been my absolute favorite when I was seventeen. It’ll have punk rock, demons, gore and gorgeous women: all the things that make life worth living!

Matilda Firth Joins the Cast of Director Leigh Whannell’s ‘Wolf Man’ Movie

Filming is underway on The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man for Universal and Blumhouse, which will be howling its way into theaters on January 17, 2025.

Deadline reports that Matilda Firth (Disenchanted) is the latest actor to sign on, joining Christopher Abbott (Poor Things),  Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel), and Sam Jaeger.

The project will mark Whannell’s second monster movie and fourth directing collaboration with Blumhouse Productions (The Invisible Man, Upgrade, Insidious: Chapter 3).

Wolf Man stars Christopher Abbott as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.

Writers include Whannell & Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo.

Jason Blum is producing the film. Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Whannell are executive producers. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.

In the wake of the failed Dark Universe, Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man has been the only real success story for the Universal Monsters brand, which has been struggling with recent box office flops including the comedic Renfield and period horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Giving him the keys to the castle once more seems like a wise idea, to say the least.
