Even after a slew of raving reviews from insiders, Miramax has delayed the release of Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, the Guillermo del Toro remake directed by Troy Nixey, and starring Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, Bailee Madison, and Jack Thompson. The the film be delayed until the new “owners” (Filmyard) take over for Miramax. Originally slated for release this coming January, the pic follows a little girl (Madison) that’s is sent to live with her father (Pearce) and his girlfriend (Holmes) in the old mansion they are renovating. There she unwittingly unleashes malevolent creatures bent on destroying all of them.
