First Official Look: Cast Photo for Tim Burton’s ‘Dark Shadows’ Offers Huge Sigh of Relief
In response to the horrible paparazzi photos, Warner Bros. Pictures has rushed out an official look at the cast from Tim Burton’s now-filming Dark Shadows, which offers a big sigh of relief.
Posted by EW, clicking over to the site will give you a breakdown of each and every cast member on display: Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter), Carolyn Stoddard (Chloë Moretz), Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green), David Collins (Gulliver McGrath), Victoria Winters (Bella Heathcote), Mrs. Johnson (Ray Shirley), Willie Loomis (Jackie Earle Haley), Roger Collins (Jonny Lee Miller) and Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer).
The original followed the life of vampire Barnabas Collins, played by Depp, and his run-ins with various monsters, ghosts, and supernatural creatures. The film is in theaters May 11, 1012.
Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has called upon live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter), to help with her family troubles.“

‘The Devil’s Bath’ – Shudder Sets Release Date for Horror Movie from ‘Goodnight Mommy’ Filmmakers
Austrian filmmakers Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala (The Lodge, Goodnight Mommy) are back with new horror movie The Devil’s Bath, and it’s coming to Shudder this summer.
The Devil’s Bath debuts on Shudder June 28, Variety reports today.
The film makes its North American premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June.
Here’s the official plot synopsis for the German-language horror movie: “In 1750 Austria, a deeply religious woman named Agnes has just married her beloved, but her mind and heart soon grow heavy as her life becomes a long list of chores and expectations. Day after day, she is increasingly trapped in a murky and lonely path leading to evil thoughts, until the possibility of committing a shocking act of violence seems like the only way out of her inner prison.”
Anja Plaschg, David Scheid, Maria Hofstätter, Camilla Schielin, and Lorenz Tröbinger star. You can check out a first look image above. Expect the trailer in the coming weeks.
The filmmakers tell Variety, “We want to see the world how it is, and that’s of course sometimes very difficult and painful, but I think we owe it to ourselves and other human beings to be honest about everything that’s not great in the world. Many movies just depict the world as a humongous place that’s amazing to live in. We think sometimes that’s not true and feel the responsibility to look into those pieces.”
The Devil’s Bath is produced by Heimatfilm Productions and Ulrich Seidl Productions as a co-production with Heimatfilm and Coop99 Filmproduktion.
