What I don’t really like about the previous Underworld films is that they take place in an alternate universe, one that appears absolutely unrealistic.
I’d say this is the main reason I’m so intrigued by Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein’s vision for Underworld: Awakening 3D, the fourth film in the franchise arriving in theaters January 20. Every trailer and screencap place Selene (Kate Beckinsale) in what appears to be “our world” where humans are hyper aware of the vampire and Lycan lore, and are out to ensure their extinction. We’re also introduced to Selene’s hybrid daughter.
“In the sequel Selene escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.” Stephen Rea, Michael Ealy, Theo James, India Eisley and Charles Dance all star.
