Hated ‘Prometheus’? Check Out The HONEST Trailer For Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien’ Prequel!
I loved Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, his Alien prequel that’s received quite a bit of flack for it’s inconstancies and lack of explanation. It’s hard to argue with a lot of the criticism, so I just respond with: “I don’t really give a fu, so suck it.”
Still, it’s fun to rib on the film, especially since it was penned by Damon Lindelof, the “genius” behind that “Lost” show (I’m still steaming angry).
Andy Signore & Brett Weiner feel the same way, but also hated Prometheus, which is why they’ve teamed to create the hilarious “Honest Trailer” for the film that teases: “From the creator of one of the most beloved horror sci-fi films of all time comes … this. Discover the biggest mysteries of the summer – like why they made it.”
Watch it below and then tell us, what did you think of Prometheus (arriving on home video next Tuesday)?

HOLY HELL THEY’RE HONESTTTTT
A lot of the points are pretty bang on and funny but there’s a lot to enjoy in Prometheus despite its inconsistencies. It was the only film this summer that had people talking about it for weeks after its premiere, and it wasn’t about how bad it was. That has to be worth something
Can someone explain to me how there is a mural in the movie of the “Alien” if the Alien at the end of the movie is suppose to be the first Alien ever?
it’s assumed that the alien at the end is the first by some moviegoers perhaps? The mural proves this is not so. Its not really inconsistent since the movie never explicitly states that the alien at the end is the first incarnation. It’s not really hard to figure it out. The honest trailer just portrays it as so for comedic effect.
But I don’t just assume it because of the Honest video. Lot’s of people said so.
For some reason, people like to assume that because these events took place prior to Alien…but I think that’s a poor assumption. I believe the mural (which was of the creature seen at the finale, NOT of the queen as this stupid mock trailer said), shows what the final evolutionary form of this particular cargo is. It can be assumed that various Engineer ships carry a different cargo, hence why in Alien they are carrying eggs, and not the vases.
Haha, that’s funny and so spot-on!…Despite the mess of ideas, the film is still very enjoyable.
HOLY FUCK!!!! that is so hilarious and spot on!!! i didn’t hate PROMETHEUS but this trailer nails everything wrong with the movie!!! LOL.
Lame and unfunny video.
The only part I found really lame and unfunny were the actor name mangling at the end. I swear a ten year old came up with that part.
I didn’t like “Noomi Rapeface” or whatever it was he called Charlise Theron, and I agree those were juvenile comments. However, I loved when he said “Data, Dr Manhattan and the Black Oil From The X-Files.” Those were pretty spot on.
Actually her name is Noomi Rapace
I literally laughed out loud at “super vagina.”
let me guess MovieGeek is one of the PROMETHEUS apologists who think the movie is flawless, no?
No movie is flawless. I just found this incredibly unfunny. You think it’s funny? cool beans. I didn’t.
Whoa. I actually liked Prometheus, but I did agree with some stuff in this trailer.
This honest trailer is pretty decent, but the Twilight and Hunger Games’ honest trailers are HILARIOUS. I honestly can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard at anything.
This had me cracking up. I actually really enjoyed this film, but it bothers me that Scott says it’s not a prequel, but then there’s stuff in the film that makes it seem like it is =/
Funny trailer and so true…but actually i didnt hate this movie.
Only half the shit in this mock trailer was “true”, the rest was highly obnoxious pandering. I saw the movie three times in theaters, and I’m not saying it was perfect, but it made more sense than they are claiming. That was NOT the queen in the mural, it was the same creature shown at the end. The “geologist” was cut off from contact during the storm, and all this mapping info was uploaded to Prometheus, not to his bong. Not sure why people have such a hard time with this. Not to mention the “failure” scientist was depressed because he wanted to make actual contact with LIVE E.T.s, of course it would be disappointing if all you find is a bunch of dead bodies! He had a bit of an extreme personality, so I think his reaction fit him just fine. Ugh…nevermind…unimaginative people apparently need everything spoon fed to them in life
