    Where’s the face?

    • EvanDickson

      There isn’t one :)

That sucks. So they changed it from the script. Little non-spoiler from the script, it had a face that was said to look like it was “screaming in agony”. Hmph.

I guess they going for a more “realistic” interpretation of a book bound in human flesh. I was hoping for a face on the cover reminiscent of Gacy’s dead skin mask from his collection. Something you have to think and say “hey is that I what I think it is…is that a goddamn human face?!!!!”

  • Special-Creature

Hey, now–let’s not judge a book by it’s cover. – Then again, the face may be on the other side of the book-in true jump scare fashion…

    • EvilHead1981

I was thinking about that too. Maybe it’s upside down and the book has to be flipped over and spun around to reveal the face.

    looks pretty cool!

Odd little form of nitpicking, it doesn’t look as weathered or worn as I hoped it might be. It looks somewhat fresh considering it’s supposed to be an ancient evil tome, especially the blood around the seams. The skin itself looks as blotchy as possessed Mia’s skin does. LOL, so is the new Book of the Dead(is it even called “Necronomicon ex Mortis” anymore?) is made out of the skin of a deadite?

I fully expect a cgi face to be added in post production. Joking aside, no face seems like an odd choice. It’s kind of iconic.

I don’t know how I feel about this. The face is iconic. Didn’t matter that neither one looked like the one before. They were all different, but just that it had a ghoulish face made it known. I understand Ash isn’t in the film, and I’m good with that. I know the story wasn’t really supposed to follow him but be really more about the book and the horrors it brought with it. With that in mind, I’d expect they would’ve kept the same concept.
