Get Hooked By The First Ever ‘Hatchet III’ Clip

hatchet-3-III

Dark Sky Films aired the first ever footage from BJ McDonnell’s Hatchet 3 that’ll get you hooked (pun intended).

Hatchet 3 will continue the saga of Crowley, the “Bayou Butcher,” who first made his gruesome mark in 2007′s groundbreaking Hatchet. Adam Green’s Hatchet 2 sequel became the first unrated independent horror film to be exhibited by a major chain (AMC Theatres) in more than 25 years when it opened.

The movie is written and executive produced by series creator Adam Green, who also directed the first two films in the series. Veteran camera operator BJ McDonnell (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Project X, Easy A, Hatchet 2) makes his directing debut on Hatchet 3.

Hatchet 2 stars Danielle Harris and Kane Hodder return in Hatchet 3, along with Derek Mears (Friday the 13th 2009), Caroline Williams (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs) and others.

meh….what i dislike about these HATCHET movies (much like the ELM ST. movies) is that you literally can’t kill Victor. no matter how many times he’s shot/stabbed/etc he’s omnipotent. i hated that with Freddy K too. not in love with this clip but we’ll see how the rest of the movie is.

Hell yeah! That looks awesome. I hope it’s better than Hatchet 2. Hatchet 1 was great. I hate how they replaced the actress who played Marybeth. I hate when movies do that, it’s distracting as fuck. But, watching Derek will be fun nonetheless!

“I hate how they replaced the actress who played Marybeth”

They didn’t replace her, the actress who played her turned down the offer to come back even though Ariescope fought for her to stay because they knew it would break continuity. Green cited her management trying to keep away from the horror genre in favor of improving her image and career path.

See, the whole police force thing and guns and numerous characters is kind of, in my opinion, where Hatchet II went wrong (bounty hunter) there was WAY too many characters and it turned into a big mess. Not to mention Danielle Harris (whom I absolutely love) was pretty awful as Marybeth. I thought the first one was fun because I liked the characters and they were a lot of fun. I

Wow. What a exciting way to showcase HATCHET III; by having a bunch of dudes fire machine guns into a shed for 2 minutes. Awesome.

Miss the awesome part with the rope-harpoon? Obviously…

I had the feeling this clip wasn’t going to show much (they usually never do), but i’m just pumped to see this movie.

I can’t wait to see this one!

The first one was definitely the best, the second one was decent, and I’m pretty sure this one will be at least decent.

    Kane Hodder is the best!

Hmm Jason vs. Jason, eh? Sounds pretty sweet. Clip was kinda Syfy Original-ish, at least in premise, but I’ll for sure be seeing this one. LOVE Hatchet, enjoyed the second one well enough (though damn, Danielle Harris did a shitty job in it, which was pretty surprising, and the use of the RED cameras just made the whole movie look cheap), and if this at least has the series’ signature over-the-top kills, it’ll probably be worth a watch.

This looks dumb. Seems like Adam Green is the horror movie M. Night Shyamalan. His first few were great and showed a real spark of genius, then…. Holliston is terrible, Hatchet II was terrible, and Hatchet III looks bad. At least he had Frozen and Hatchet. And this clip was boring, “awesome” rope harpoon and all.
