After wrapping up August with a discussion of the better-than-the-original Influencers (listen) and celebrating our 400th episode with The Rocky Horror Picture Show (listen), we’re getting very manic and chaotic with Tobe Hooper‘s misunderstood horror comedy The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986).
The 12-years-later sequel sees radio DJ Stretch (Caroline Williams) inadvertently record one of her listeners being murdered by the terrifying Leatherface (Bill Johnson). This puts her in the crosshairs of the rest of the Sawyer clan, including cook Drayton (Jim Siedow) and metal-plated Chop Top (Bill Moseley), the twin brother of the original film’s Hitchhiker.
Stretch’s savior may come in the form of Lieutenant Lefty Enright (Dennis Hopper), who seeks revenge against the Sawyers for murdering his nephew Franklin in the original film. Will they be able to survive the next Texas Chainsaw Massacre?
