In a recent interview with Guitar World, Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell discussed the follow up album to 2009’s Black Gives Way To Blue, which has an unspecified 2013 release date. The album marks the second release since the passing of original singer Layne Staley and was recently completed with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones) and engineer Paul Figueroa.
Cantrell states, “It’s like having to deal with the sophomore jinx for the second time in our career.”
He continues, saying, “In my opinion, [Black Gives Way To Blue] stood up to anything else we’ve put out in our career. And this new one is right up there as well.”
More information will be available in the January issue of Guitar World. Now, tell me, is anyone else as excited for this new album as I am? I seriously cannot wait to hear it!
