Valve Has Pulled ‘The War Z’ From Steam, Offers Refund To Disgruntled Fans

This hasn’t been an easy week for Hammerpoint Interactive or their post-apocalyptic MMO, The War Z. First, the dev was called out by fans who found several fibs in their description of the game on Steam, then just as it reached the top of the Steam charts, a pay to revive feature was implemented in a patch. Now, Valve has temporarily pulled the game from Steam so they can work with the dev on getting a build they’re more confident in. If you purchased The War Z and aren’t satisfied, feel free to get a refund.

Have a question? Feel free to ever-so-gently toss Adam an email, or follow him on Twitter and Bloody Disgusting.

It’s only a matter of time before they issue full refunds to everyone and scrap this project. They don’t even deserve the money they’ve made so far. Scam artists.

This piqued my interest, and then I realized it is not the DayZ standalone that I thought it was. Bring on DayZ!!

I’ve been playing this since day 1, and I have to say I’ve never seen such a worthless, asshole gaming community as found here in the War Z. Just take a swing by their Facebook page to see what I’m talking about. And if the crying on forums/social networks isn’t enough, there’s no teamwork ethic in the game either. Not to mention the racist screen names and overall gutter talk found in chat.

I myself will admit that as is, this game is garbage. It’s boring and there’s no goal to work towards. I still have high hopes though, and I realize that I bought a game that wasnt fully completed. There will be no crying from me, i’ll wait around until the end of the world (Hopefully later rather than sooner!) if I have too, to see if the War Z gets on the right track.

Also to add, if your looking for a fun, and less expensive zombie game, check out Project Zomboid. It’s still a work in progress, but it’s really shaping up to be something special, especially with the upcoming update.
