The Daily Swarm is reporting what might be one of the most absurd and insanely hilarious things I’ve seen in a while. Apparently SPIN magazine is no more, ceasing their publications after the Sept./Oct. 2012 issue. As a consolation and a way to make amends to the subscribers, readers will get the rest of their subscription filled by Car And Driver. Because clearly those who want to read about music are going to simply love knowing about cars.
Here’s why this happened: SPIN magazine was bought by BuzzMedia earlier this year. Before that, Hearst Media (which owns Car And Driver) invested a lot of money into BuzzFeed. So it’s simply behind-the-scenes politics going on here.
