The 8th Season of “Dexter” will premiere on Sunday, June 30th. That’s a full three months earlier than last year’s premiere (Season 7 premiered at the end of September) and now we’ve got a teaser that touts your abbreviated wait time. I should note that there is absolutely no new footage in this teaser and for 1 second it makes you think that Liev Schreiber has joined the program.
Just a reminder that I’m starting to personally doubt this will be the last season. The show is still performing well in the ratings and even Showtime President David Nevins is hedging his bets by saying stuff like, “[Season 8] is the likely endpoint, but I’m leaving open the possibility that plans could change […] I think there’s a very clear trajectory now of where they’re going. I think it’s going to help to write with that endgame in mind. I’ve been pushing to shake up the formula a little bit. I think there should be fundamentally different dynamics now.” and “ “Dexter” for Showtime is what Batman is to Warner Bros., it is a cornerstone franchise.”
Head inside to see the teaser for what I’m now betting will be the second to last season of “Dexter”.
