‘Evil Dead’ To Have World Premiere At SXSW

SXSW has unveiled a list of their opening night films and among them is director Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead, the Sam Raimi/Bruce Campbell produced remake of the classic 1981 film. SXSW will run from March 8th through the 16th in Austin, TX and is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Evil Dead will debut on opening night, March 8th.

Evil Dead is set for release on April 12th and is about, “Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.
