Green Band Trailer For The ‘Evil Dead’ Remake Boasts New Footage!!!

The official green band trailer for Evil Dead has just hit! Since it’s an “all ages” trailer it naturally loses a lot of the gore, but it also gains some new footage! Thanks to reader DJBlack1313 for pointing it out!

The Fede Alvarez-directed remake stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Elizabeth Blackmore and Jessica Lucas. It hits theaters on April 12th, 2013. Be sure to read PART ONE and PART TWO of my set visit!

In the much anticipated remake of Sam Raimi’s 1981 cult-hit horror film, “Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Head inside for the new trailer!

Just wondering if Elizabeth Blackmore getting dragged into the cellar will lead to the tongue cutting scene from the other trailers? Even without the gore this films looks immense!

God damn, I haven’t been so stoked for a remake since Friday the 13th. (Despite what you haters have to say about it, I still say it delivered! Especially the first twenty minutes.) But this movie looks fucking siiiiiiiiiiiiick. I’ll be there opening night, or hopefully if my theater does it, the midnight screening. (Saw Friday the 13th during the midnight screening and again later the same night on opening night)

Meh. I saw this trailer before Texas Chainsaw 3D, and it didn’t do anything for me. Of course, I’m still beyond PUMPED for the movie, but I prefer the bloody, nasty, and violent stuff in the red band trailers. It just doesn’t feel the same without the tongue cutting scene at the end. lol.

Yeah, I know. It’s something different, but I can’t get enough of the carnage! And I went back and watched the most recent red band trailer on here like 4 or 5 times just now! lol.

Zombie-Killa, LOL. i keep doing the same thing! lol. i keep watching both red band trailers again and again and even started watching Jane Levy’s SUBURGATORY (Jane inspired me!) which is a VERY cool little show! the Halloween ep actually has a Jane/Mia/Evil Deadish little moment that made me smile! :)

Hear, hear. I’m here for the over-the-top blood and scare and violence. I WANT IT NOW.

Somebody knows how to cut fucking trailers! We’ve all gotten a taste for the gore, this trailer showed off the less gory side. Still intense, gritty, and downright fucking beautiful. Sorry for all the fucks, but FUCK! I’ve NEVER anticipated a remake (especially of my favorite film) this much, hell it’s been a long time since I’ve anticipated ANY film as much as I am this one. The extensive (thank you!!) coverage of this here on BD gives me more reason to see this everyday!

The green-band trailer proves once and for all that there’s a lot more going on with this movie than just insane gore . . . there are definitely buttons being pushed here on multiple levels. This looks genuinely scary and freaky as hell! And thanks, of course, to DJBlack!

Can’t wait. Haven’t been this excited about a horror film in many months. I wonder if it’ll be in the same remake league as the Dawn of the Dead remake…

It’d be really great to see this be #1 in the box office April 12th weekend. We’ll see.

Hmmm I take it in the remake not only are the deadites able to posses people there able to replicate there bodies and create a clone i think this because in the bit of the trailer when mia is escaping in the car you see her possessed standing in front of the car am i right?

    • Avatar of djblack1313

ghostface, you are correct. it’s more like they are seeing a vision of what’s about to be. in the red band trailer Olivia sees herself in the mirror with the flesh on her jawline/face gone, Mia (while entrapped in the vines) sees herself possessed spitting out the rape vines, etc.

sounds like that could be a really cool twist on the whole deadites possession thing :)

Just got so excited to see this movie. What I like so far from what I saw is that the film looks like an actual film, not just another “horror flick”. I’m already invested in the characters and I’ve only seen trailers. I’m excited for good ass film making not just, “hey let’s scare the crap out of people”. This looks like it could change the tide for the horror genre. PUMPED!!!
