The long-in-development survival horror adventure game Asylum recently made its way to Steam where it eventually received enough support from the community to get greenlit. Now that the team behind it is entering the final stretch of development, they’ve decided to follow in the footsteps of many groups before them in asking for extra funds on Kickstarter. As a fan of Lovecraft, creepy abandoned mental institutions, and Scratches — Asylum designer Agustín Cordes’ previous game — this title has been on my radar for some time now. If you’re a fan of survival horror, adventure games, or a combination of the two, this is one of the more exciting games coming out in the near future.
If you’re interested in supporting the game, I suggest watching their pitch first, I’ve even made it super easy to do so by embedding it after the jump. Even if you’re not interested, I still recommend watching it if only to watch Cordes sing to and gently massage an angry asylum in an attempt to calm it. It’s definitely one of the more entertaining Kickstarter pitches I’ve seen.
