Saoirse Ronan Joins The Increasingly Bonkers Sounding ‘How To Catch A Monster’

Saoirse Ronan (Atonement, The Lovely Bones) is joining the cast of How to Catch a Monster. Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes, Matt Smith, Rob Zabrecky and Ben Mendelsohn also star.

Directed by Ryan Gosling from his own script, “the story is set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city and centered on a single mother of two being swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.” That’s quite an ambitious choice for a directorial debut!

No word on Ronan’s role yet. Shooting is scheduled to commence this May in Detroit, which seems fittingly apocalyptic.
