Before we get to the international news, I was sent a short video by fan Trent Shy who created this incredible stop-motion animated title card for our forthcoming V/H/S/2, acquired by Magnet Releasing out of Sundance as S-VHS. The video depicts a VHS tape exploding to create a skull face. We like skulls. A lot.
In news out of EFM in Berlin, some more of you dear readers will be able to check out the movie come later this year. Paris-based Memento Films International has been racking up sales on footage horror picture S-VHS, the sequel to cult hit V/H/S, says Screen Daily.
So far, the picture has sold to Australia (Village Roadshow); Russia (Big Movie); Middle East (Falcon); Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Colombia (Energia Entusiasta); Singapore (Yellow Brick); and India (Pictureworks). UK, Canada, Germany, and other major territories are forthcoming.
In the film directed by Simon Barrett, Adam Wingard, Gareth Evans, Eduardo Sanchez, Gregg Hale, Jason Eisener and Timo Tjahjanto, “Searching for a missing student, two private investigators break into his abandoned house, which contains another collection of mysterious VHS tapes. In viewing the horrific contents of each cassette, they realize there may be terrifying motives behind the student’s disappearance.“
