We’re almost halfway through our Top 10 Nine Inch Nails Music Videos countdown and we’re gonna start entering the heavy hitters from here on out. We’ve already had “Survivalism”, “Wish”, and more. So what comes next, you ask? Head on down below to see which video landed at #6 as well as links to the previous entries.

Trent Reznor’s group How To Destroy Angels will be releasing their first full-length album Welcome Oblivion this Tuesday via Columbia Records. You can pre-order it on iTunes.

“Starfuckers, INC”

Album: The Fragile
Director: Robert Hales and Marilyn Manson

The song and video are both scathing commentaries on how society views celebrities. Admittedly, the video features disturbing and surreal imagery that have never really left me to this day. The one-armed “ringleader”, the two women on the side of the road, and, of course, Marilyn Manson as the lovely blonde sidekick. All of this added up to a video that burned itself into my mind.

The “lady” at 2:30, is that Courtney Love ?

    • JonathanBarkan

Apparently it’s supposed to be a mock version of her, although a definitive answer would have to come from Reznor, Hales, or Manson.

I’m curious to see if Pinion makes the list. At just barely over the one minute mark it’s not much, but that always stuck with me as a highly effective video.

    4. Help me I am in hell
    3. Sin
    2. Closer
    1. Happiness in slavery

I hope for “The Perfect Drug”.

Totally agree with you on that one. Love the breakdown.

Only four choices? Remember, there’s still a #5 that we have to post 😉

Pinion would be my #5, although it’s more an intro than a full length video. I still love it. If not that I’d replace it with Head Like a Hole.
I’m really not sure if the video is all that great, but it has a very special place in my heart. Sophomore in high school, moving 800 miles to a new home, and this is released. Helps make everything right in the world.

Perfect Drug…song and video are just OK for me, but I’m sure it will be #5.
