That long-rumored Thief sequel has finally been made official, thanks to a reveal by Game Informer. Contrary to previous reports, it won’t be called Thief 4. Instead, this will be a reboot that will go by Thief. No awkwardly placed 4? I’m okay with that. Unsurprisingly, it will be a next-gen game, as Square Enix plans to release it for the PS4, PC, and “other next-gen platforms” in 2014. More after the jump.
According to Game Informer, Thief will follow “Series hero Garrett returns to the Gothic, industrial metropolis known simply as the City to steal any and everything that will make him richer. Unfortunately, the City is broiling with social tension as it is ravaged by a plague and lorded over by a political tyrant known as the Baron. In order to survive his adventures, Garrett will have to pay attention to his environment and make use of the may possible paths through each of the game’s levels.”
