New ‘Maniac’ Still A Dressed Down Take On The Poster

I still haven’t seen Franck Khalfoun’s Maniac (which Mr. Disgusting calls a masterpiece), starring Elijah Wood – but I’m getting closer! I’ll be catching it along with the rest of you when it hits select theaters and VOD platforms June 21. In the meantime, we have a slightly fresh look at this new “modern horror classic” (review here) in the form of a still that gives us a more detailed look at the scenario set up in the film’s one sheet.

In the remake, “Just when the streets seemed safe, a serial killer with a fetish for scalps is back and on the hunt. Frank (Wood) is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank’s obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill.
