Trailer For Edgar Wright’s ‘The World’s End’ Brings On The Booze (And Aliens)

The teaser trailer just hit for The World’s End, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz director Edgar Wright’s new movie that stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Rosamund Pike, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine and Eddie Marsan. While this definitely feels more like a teaser than a full trailer – it still introduces a host of crazy sh*t like humanoid blue-eyed aliens along with some giant insect looking guys. Getting a strong Stephen King meets John Carpenter vibe from this one. I also dig that the fence gag is back! This film will complete Wright and Pegg’s Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy.

In theaters August 23 2013, “20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost can do no wrong.

Oh, and a Hot Fuzz 2 would be more than welcome.

I love the fence jump running gag in these films. Not exactly high brow humor but I laugh my ass off every time. Oh, and I wouldnt mind Hot Fuzz 2 myself.

This could be brilliant. Although it’s probably too early to tell, I don’t think it looks as good as Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz. I hope it will be though!

Yes! This looks f#cking awesome. Love the silliness of the aliens – cheesy children of the corn vibe.

I really didn’t like “Paul” and I fucking hated “Scott Pilgrim”, so to me Simon Pegg/Nick Frost don’t work without Edgar Right and Edgar Right doesn’t work without Pegg/Frost. With all this said, if this movie sucks, I will kill myself.
