About a week ago, Acid Wizard Studio’s “surreal horror” game Darkwood hit its goal. On Wednesday, their campaign ended with a grand total over $57,000, meaning they reached their first stretch goal, unlocking free DLC for everyone who donated to the project. Will they throw a bone to everyone else who buys the game now that the campaign has ended? That’s up to them, I suppose.
Either way, as a horror fan, it’s great seeing Darkwood receive the funding it needed just a few weeks after DreadOut and Among the Sleep surpassed their goals. Forget big budget horror (sorry, Resident Evil), this is a great time to be an indie horror developer.
