[E3 2013] ‘Dead Rising 3’ Revealed, Coming Exclusively To Xbox One

Capcom has finally revealed Dead Rising 3, not through a CG trailer, but through six gorgeous minutes of in-game footage. I’ve never been a huge fan of the franchise, mainly because of the annoying time limit and excess of camp. If what they showed off earlier today is anything to go by, that will definitely change.

The time limit looks to have been removed, there might not be an always visible HUD, you can now craft on the fly rather than being forced to find a workbench, and much of the silliness has been replaced by a grittier look and tone. Dead Rising 3 just shot to the top of my list of most anticipated horror games. See it in action after the jump.

All the upcoming zombie games are looking fantastic! DR3 looks like a lot of fun and not the same thing done again. Now all I need in my life is Left 4 Dead 3 and a legit sequel to Dead Island.

  • divisionbell

Looks good but not entirely sold. After the second repeated the first, I would be hesitant to jump on it until after reviews. Besides, state of decay is filling the need nicely.

Agreed. State of Decay is amazing.

  • horror_geek1331

Bullshit on this. How are you going to have part 2 for both systems, end said part 2 with a cliffhanger and then make the 3rd entry only for ONE system. Bullshit I say.
And yes I agree too State of Decay is a great game.

  • turtlenipple

This looks like a little much to me. I don’t see myself playing this for another year or 2 anyway, I refuse to pay $500 for a gaming system. And yeah, State of fucking Decay.

  • Canucklehead

One can only hope that it contains all of the lame escort missions that made DR so lame….where’s my State of Decay for PS3?

  • Nothing333

I’m probably going to be one of the few to say this, but day one here!

  • Marty McFly

Dead Rising 2 sucked ass. Didn’t play part 1 cause I don’t have Xbox, but I got DR2 for my PS3 and I absolutely hated it!!!! I will admit that DR3 looks like an improvement.. but since I won’t be buying an Xbox One, I’ll never know. Can’t wait for PS4 though.

  • DeadInHell

It does look like a step forward in some ways, but still the gameplay looks pretty wonky. The camera seems really dodgy.

And of course the biggest obstacle is being an Xbox exclusive. MS shit the bed with their new console and I have no intentions of forking over 500 bucks to be spied on in my living room.

This is still many months away from release, so any lack of polish you may have noticed can be attributed to it not being finished. But I agree, the Xbox exclusivity is a bummer.
