Announced as part of this year’s Midnight Madness line-up is Joe Begos’s Almost Human, which silently snuck into the Toronto International Film Festival.
While little has been known about the film until this evening, Bloody Disgusting was provided with the film’s festival trailer…and it’s a doozy. If I were to describe it on a sales sheet, I’d say the footage looks like a cross between John Carpenter’s The Thing and Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The opening credits logo tips a hat to old school horror, which leads me to believe something special is afoot!
“Mark Fisher disappeared from his home in a brilliant flash of blue light almost two years ago. His friend Seth Hampton was the last to see him alive. Now a string of grisly, violent murders leads Seth to believe that Mark is back, and something evil is living inside of him.“
