Can We All Agree That This Is One Of The Greatest Album Covers Ever?

Florida psychedelic noise rockers Orbweaver have made their new 5-track EP Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon (such a cool name) available for streaming via their Bandcamp. The EP was recorded with Jonathan Nunez of Torche and mixed/mastered with Brian Elliot at Mana Recording Studios (Hate Eternal, Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore, Exhumed). They’ve also released a teaser video for “Tragic Orbit: A Doomed, Cosmic Starship”, which features the band performing against a green screen (which isn’t utilized quite often). This video is for an upcoming Audio Junkie episode.

But what this post is really about is their amazing cover art for the EP! A rich, colorful, out of this world image, it features grotesque aliens embellished with vivid, cartoonish detail. It honestly looks like one of those blacklight posters that stoner dorm kids would hang on their wall. I’m no stoner but I would definitely hang this bad boy up in my place (maybe over the toilet so as to freak out family when they come over).

Watch the video, stream the EP, and check out the album artwork below!

Is it weird to think it looks cute? Not a fan of their font choice, but yeah, otherwise its pretty fun.

I really dig the font. I think it’s playful and reminds me a bit of Beetlejuice (the cartoon series). And, as you say, it’s just fun!
