Industrial metal band Darkc3ll was all set and ready to play Melbourne, Australia on November 15th at the Rock Dungeon. However, the venue’s promoter abruptly cancelled the show when he received a press release that featured the band’s Dark Verses album artwork. Apparently he also found issues with what the band portrays and that it “stands in opposition to his religious beliefs”.
In a post on SFMedia, the promoter took to the comments to state that the cancellation is, “…due to unforeseen circumstances!” However, no further explanation was given. Considering that the concert isn’t for almost three months, it’s hard to imagine what these “unforeseen circumstances” might be.
The “controversial” artwork can be seen below along with the band’s video for “Exorcist”.
