First Ever Footage From Eli Roth’s ‘The Green Inferno’!!

Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno after was a hit at its Midnight Madness screening at TIFF and sold to Open Road soon thereafter. I’ve been a big fan of everything Roth has actually directed (including Hostel 2 which I think is a misunderstood masterwork), so naturally I can’t wait to see this cannibalistic opus.

Our own Mike Pereira loved the film out of TIFF so that’s also a good sign!

Roth recently went on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno, complete with a Halloween costume, to introduce the very first clip from the film. The footage starts about a minute in, but Roth is always an entertaining raconteur so it’s worth hearing his intro to it as well.

Check it out below! There’s still no release date, but I imagine that will change soon.

Now we need a trailer!! So stoked for this movie! Can’t wait to see another blood and gore. \m/

  • ChasingTheGhost

That was awesome! I can’t wait for this.

that was amazing. :) I love eli roth so much. He truly is an awesome person and film maker. I’m so happy he hasn’t lost his edge, and still is an awesome film maker.

For a second there, I thought I was watching a ‘Final Destination’ movie. This looks awesome!

    Release the release date! ;p

Saw this one at Fantastic Fest. It was about on the same level as Aftershock. Liked it, but it was DTV-quality at best. Really poor production values ruined it for me. Not bad, but I wouldn’t pay to see it in a theater, and I highly doubt it will make it that far.

    • Baphomitt

Blegh. Aftershock was so terrible. That just destroyed any excitement I had for this.

      • sadiesaidhorror

I agree with that guy ^

well shit… i’m jumping ship now, aftershock was one of the worst films of recent memory. there wasn’t one remotely good thing about that movie (yeah, roth’s performance was crap too). guess I’ll be watching this on Netflix too

WOW! that was pretty fucking intense!

Normally I really dislike Eli Roth’s films (not keen on the man either) but I am curious to see what he can do with the location, with contemporary equipment. It’ll either be pretty interesting or just another exploitative rehash of older works. I am really hoping though that it’s the former.

  • Shagatron

It’d be interesting to see if he can fake some talent for this.

  • David

really want to see this but i have a feeling its going to be more hype than a quality film. the actors spinning around in the plane looked a little hoakey and felt like i was watching scare tatics on syfy.

  • Boonraiser

I liked the movie when I saw it at TIFF. It wasn’t amazing but definitely worth watching. Maybe the rowdy midnight crowd and the fact that it was the world premiere helped. Singing happy birthday via facetime to Roth’s dad was pretty cool too.
The practical gore was great and the movie went along at a good pace once the students got down to the Amazon.

i dislike this guy and his movies. this looks ok but his movies always come off as full of themselves and this footage just backed my thoughts up. also can this weird mother fucker just be interviewed like a normal person?

  • markajacoby

Amazing? Are you friggin kidding me? Looked like a bunch of kids on a thrill ride at Six Flags. Eli Roth is so much more hype than substance.

  • The Wolfman

We didn’t ALL love The Green Inferno, Evan 😉

Ill give it a go. Afterall if it makes it to theaters its something to do anyway….
