Anthony Carpendale, the filmmaker behind the upcoming survival horror documentary Playing With Fear is very obviously a fan of the horror genre. To celebrate it and his upcoming film, he crafted a short video that showcases the evolution the genre has seen over the last three decades. It covers games that span three decades, starting with games like Friday the 13th and Alone in the Dark, to Resident Evil and Silent Hill, as well as a slew of indie horror games like Eyes, Among the Sleep and Routine. It’s all capped off by Shinji Mikami’s next-gen horror game The Evil Within.
This is definitely worth checking out — as is our interview with Carpendale, where he discusses the Playing With Fear documentary and web series.
